Hello NOVA MEMBERS! Before we knew it, Fall arrived and we are already halfway through October! As always, please review the class schedule for the location(s) you attend: Oak Creek schedule here, and Pewaukee schedule here.
A couple of Saturday class notes for this month:
-There will be no kickboxing or yoga classes Saturday, Oct 17. BJJ Open Mat is taking place still.
-There will be no yoga Saturday, Oct 24. Kickboxing and BJJ Open Mat are taking place still.
-Classes resume as normal Saturday, Oct 31.
KIDS CLASSES (OAK CREEK)
As a reminder, the Monday-Thursday Kids Kickboxing/MMA and Kids Jiu Jitsu schedule at Oak Creek is:
4:15 - 5:00pm KICKBOXING & MMA
5:00 - 5:45pm ADVANCED JIU JITSU
5:50 - 6:35pm BEGINNERS JIU JITSU & FUNDAMENTALS
And on Fridays:
5:00 - 5:30pm BEGINNERS JUDO
5:30 - 6:30pm ADVANCED JUDO
A couple important protocol reminders for parents:
Due to COVID precautions and guidelines, we are continuing our class check in/check out procedure. Parents (not kids) must sign in for their child/children when arriving, and sign out after coming back to pick them up after class.
As our class sizes continue to grow, we are continuing to keep capacity under limits per COVID precautions and guidelines. We still ask for parents to drop off their child/children for class, sign them in and then leave for the duration of the class. When coming back to pick up your child/children, again please sign them out before departing.
A couple suggestions for during the class time:
There’s Pick ‘n Save in the lot if you need to do some grocery shopping
There’s Q Spa Massage Therapy couple doors down if you’re in need of a massage/de-stressing, and Star Nails nail spa in the same strip mall too
There’s a restaurant in the same strip mall called Shish Kabob if you’re hungry or need to pick up dinner, or other restaurant options right across the street
There’s other businesses nearby on S. 27th St to complete some errands at (including a Walmart and Home Depot across the street)
Wait in your car and listen to music/podcasts/audio books, read, complete phone/work calls, enjoy a break from everything and embrace silent “me” time
Take a stroll or jog in and around our surrounding parking lot
Participate in our simultaneous Adult Fitness Kickboxing classes (ask about family discounts!)
NOVA PEWAUKEE

BELT PROMOTIONS
In September, Coach Scott promoted six students to the ranking of Yellow Belt in Judo at NOVA Oak Creek:

Don’t forget, Judo is INCLUDED in the Kids Jiu Jitsu membership! (Held Friday evenings in Oak Creek, led by Coach Scott Shockley)
Also in September, Coach Kaz provided Jiu Jitsu promotions to some familiar faces in our NOVA Community. Congratulations to Coach Scott, Coach Ron, Coach Matt L and Nova member John M on their stripes!
UPCOMING EVENTS
Coach Matt Leonard will be participating at the Grappling Industries Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament in Chicagoland next month on November 14 (GI and NOGI round robin tournament). We highly encourage anyone looking to compete to be a part of this one! (Kids, teens and adults brackets) Early registration ends October 31. Click here for complete details and to register.
